Introduction

ZeroClaws.io ("we", "our", or "us") is an independent, fan-run community website that publishes original tutorials, deployment walkthroughs, and articles for users of the ZeroClaw open-source project. We are not affiliated with ZeroClaw Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what data this site collects, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Data We Collect

1. Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 collects:

• Pages viewed and time on page
• Referring URL (how you arrived at our site)
• Approximate geographic location (country/city level, derived from IP)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Session and engagement metrics

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that expire after 2 years. IP addresses are anonymized before storage. We do not enable Google Signals, User-ID, or any advertising features.

You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

2. Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense may set cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Specifically:

• Google uses the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads relevant to your interests
• You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings
• You may also visit aboutads.info to opt out of third-party ad cookies

3. Newsletter Subscription

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address only. We use this to send periodic updates about ZeroClaw tutorials, new articles, and community news. We do not share your email with any third party. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

4. Theme Preference

We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser's localStorage (key: theme). This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require account registration or login
• We do not collect names, phone numbers, or payment information
• We do not use fingerprinting or cross-device tracking
• We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — website hosting (processes server logs including IP addresses per their privacy policy)
• Google Fonts — font delivery (Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono, Material Symbols). Google may log font requests
• GitHub — contributor avatar images are loaded from GitHub's CDN

Data Retention

• Google Analytics data: retained for 14 months, then automatically deleted
• Newsletter emails: retained until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days
• Server logs (Vercel): retained per Vercel's standard retention policy

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time
• Opt out of analytics tracking and personalized advertising (see links above)

ZeroClaws.io is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
